History of Radiology in Mauritius
The history of clinical radiology can be traced back to Dr. Jules Maurice CURE in 1922 using the first X-Ray machine in the private sector.
1922Introduction X-Ray machine
The history of Radiology in Mauritius first started with the introduction of an X-Ray machine in the private sector in 1922. The well known Dr Jules Maurice CURE was the first medical practitioner to use the X-Ray machine for medical purposes.1927Beginning of X-Ray Department
Dr DUPRE was the first qualified radiologist who started the X-Ray department at Victoria Hospital.1928Screening of Patients

Modern X-Ray machine installed at Victoria Hospital. He had modernised the X-ray departments of Victoria and Civil hospitals. He had drafted the documents and also chosen the equipments for SSRNH.
